153. Notes - a selection of conversations

153. 17 June 2019

Very shortly after noon. You are awaiting a call from Craig and Alta about their trip to Ohio and Pennsylvania in late July. You are also waiting on Paul to stop to pick up the cats and all their paraphernalia and journey them to their place for a two weeks residence, then you can pack. Packing makes them anxious. - Amorella

You are both almost packed. Rachel Maddow just came on MSNBC. No need to post. We'll keep a daily commentary. - Amorella

153. 21 June 2019

Early afternoon. You are recovering from possible strep throat by taking two 50mg tablets a day called in by Paul three days ago. You have been getting a lot of sleep along the way. As of this afternoon you cough is sounding more normal than not. That's audio progress. Body-wise, you are as having a flu. Everyone else is fine. - Amorella

153. 22 June 2019

1705 hours. Without much thinking I sent a FB note thanking people for reading the blog, then I rather flippantly suggested I might ask my soul what she does when I'm not around. I didn't mean the question disrespectful, it seemed an interesting question.

Here is a response, Mr. Orndorff. When I am tired of endless chatter 'thinking' people such as you do, I shut you down. I am not a Mother Hen. I do what any reasonable soul would do, shut you off. Bye for now. Miss Havisham

After dusk. You are looking for a good photo for tonight as it is your first Madeira Beach photo of the Summer, 2019. - Amorella

2058 hours. I took a few, hopefully one will be better than the others. There were more orange tints than I expected. Interesting. Note just in from Kim (2100 hrs.); they rented a car and are leaving the airport presently; she says they'll arrive in forty minutes. -- Well, that stops my processes. I'll write another time.

Come up with that photo to drop into FB, then we'll call it a night. - Amorella

153. 24 June 2019

Mid-afternoon Monday. Kim, Paul, Owen, Brennan, Linda and Carol and you had lunch at Guppies on the Beach in Indian Rock. Everybody enjoyed their foods. Presently you are in the bedroom writing at the table while the others are chatting in the living room. Later. - Amorella

The dark of evening. Kim, Owen and Brennan came in the bedroom to see Carol and yourself and everyone had a good chat before bed. You are indeed pleased with the progress both have made in their chess playing, particularly their beginning and middle games. Owen took lessons earlier this year. - Amorella

Owen is a calmer player. Brennan is more aggressive and sometimes beats his brother. He would like to beat me, I can feel it in him. They both show very good maturity and focus in their wills to strategically move the pieces about the board -- learning to command the middle of the board from the edges. They are interesting to observe. Both pay attention to my moves. Brennan caught me with a side bishop and I lost a knight. Carelessness on my part and he set it up and took advantage of it. I think that was his best move of the game because of his quiet anticipation and observation of my weakness. He felt the joy in taking that knight all on his own. Both have a firm handshake at the conclusion also. The game can be full of private joys and regrets. Such is life. (2143)

You got carried away in the moment, boy, and you are feeling better both mentally and physically. Your last paragraph shows this between the lines. - Amorella

You were never a good player but you readily enjoyed being chess advisor at Indian Hill. You helped start the chess club at Mason, and shortly after Mark Meibers, who had been your student at Mason and was now teaching math classes at Mason, took over the club some years before your retirement. This is the way it registers in your heartanmind. - mh

2201 hours. This is a fun fact to know. Lots of things happen in life and this was a forgotten point.

I assure you it was not forgotten, Mr. Orndorff. - mh

2204 hours. This is very refreshing to realize. None of this makes any difference other than in the subjectivity of being human. I would hope this is real, that this is how it was; and that after physical death this is how my spirit will remember it . It gives me positive hope that little things in life stick with you after physical death.

The living can and do make arguments on life after death but it really makes little difference. People like to hope they have good memories go with them. Spirits like myself do not have to prove anything such as this. We are what we are. We exist. Humans are what they are too, and they also exist. If we both exist with or without time, what difference does it make? People make conclusions, but anyone who has ever studied history know this make little difference to those living after the deaths of millions, billions of others. Conclusions have a limited value. Hearts and minds do not. Post. - Amorella

Evening. You have a hint that Miss Havisham has something to say, but your concern is that you have something to say in her behalf. Is this not so? - Amorella

2132 hours. I sense anger from Miss Havisham, and I would be upset to find it was my own anger misplaced.

Have you ever felt anger from me and felt it misplaced your own? - Amorella

2136 hours. No, ma'am. I 'know' your anger and it comes from beyond my own soul. Your anger has broken through from a realm far beyond Miss Havisham. There was never a question. Once, I suddenly smelled burnt flesh and recognize it as my own. Decades ago, I felt a sin or two were burnt away and I was more nakedly raw than before. All this within a second or so. Sometimes time stood still as if it never was during such a moment of which there was more than one. These are recorded in notes shared with friends before the encounters-in-mind blog was set up. Notes from the twentieth century. No one meets a real Angel face to face as it were without immediate repercussion. Amorella morphed, as it were, into an Angel of G-D. This present conversation raises such an ever-immediate event in my heartansoulanmind. There is not one in the three parts of my human spirit that will deny this. If there is a denial I demand to read/hear it now, Miss Havisham? - rho

- No Response -

2153 hours. I am not going to deny it for to do so, from my perspective and my belief, I would forfeit my very soul. This from a conformed agnostic, no less. I will not be less than what I am in my own heartansoulanmind, and damned be the consequences. - rho

152. Notes - story defined / be alive and well

152. 16 June 2019

Later, on a rainy Sunday morning. The first word to pop in your head as you cranked up the computer was "story". - Amorella

1118 hours. That's what I was thinking last night before sleep. I wanted to reiterate that this blog is really a fictional story in a diary-like format. Presently it is reminding me a bit of Coleridge's "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" and Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

** **

The Rime of the Ancient Mariner

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Rime of the Ancient Mariner (originally The Rime of the Ancyent Marinere) is the longest major poem by the English poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge, written in 1797–98 and published in 1798 in the first edition of Lyrical Ballads. Some modern editions use a revised version printed in 1817 that featured a glossAlong with other poems in Lyrical Ballads, it is often considered a signal shift to modern poetry and the beginning of British Romantic literature.
The Rime of the Ancient Mariner relates the experiences of a sailor who has returned from a long sea voyage. The mariner stops a man who is on his way to a wedding ceremony and begins to narrate a story. The wedding-guest's reaction turns from bemusement to impatience to fear to fascination as the mariner's story progresses, as can be seen in the language style: Coleridge uses narrative techniques such as personification and repetition to create a sense of danger, the supernatural, or serenity, depending on the mood in different parts of the poem.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (commonly shortened to Alice in Wonderland) is an 1865 novel written by English author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll. It tells of a young girl named Alice falling through a rabbit hole into a fantasy world populated by peculiar, anthropomorphic creatures. The tale plays with logic, giving the story lasting popularity with adults as well as with children. It is considered to be one of the best examples of the literary nonsense genre. Its narrative course, structure, characters, and imagery have been enormously influential in both popular culture and literature, especially in the fantasy genre.

You may also include Wilder’s "Our Town". - Amorella

Our Town

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Our Town is a 1938 metatheatrical three-act play by American playwright Thornton Wilder. It tells the story of the fictional American small town of Grover's Corners between 1901 and 1913 through the everyday lives of its citizens.
Throughout, Wilder uses metatheatrical devices, setting the play in the actual theatre where it is being performed. The main character is the stage manager of the theatre who directly addresses the audience, brings in guest lecturers, fields questions from the audience, and fills in playing some of the roles. The play is performed without a set on a mostly bare stage. With a few exceptions, the actors mime actions without the use of props.
Our Town was first performed at McCarter Theatre in Princeton, New Jersey in 1938. It later went on to success on Broadway and won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. It remains popular today and revivals are frequent.

1149 hours. This is where the concepts of this blog come from as well as from my many year blog "Encounters in Mind". I have no doubt left many concepts out but assume they are scattered about within 'Encounters'.

I agree, orndorff. You cannot possibly remember where all the concepts have come from having lived seventy-six years of experience so far. - Amorella

       Post. - Amorella

2203 hours. I assume I am the stage manager from what I read above.

Rightly so, you are the only one living. - Amorella

2205 hours. Closer to the truth, I am the stage.

You've hit it right on the button, boy. - Amorella

2206 hours. As in the line, "All the world's a stage."

Correct again. All the "I's" of the world are the stage. Their heartsanminds plus two imaginary spirits, a soul and another spirit. - 'twere in one, 'twere in all'. - Amorella

2215 hours. In this work I am as the 'alone' in everyone.

No, boy. You are first the stage and set. You have long stated that you are mostly fiction, so this is an excellent stage to wish for something more and not discover it here. - Amorella

2218 hours. Such a dark humor.

A stellar humor is it not? - Amorella

2223 hours. It is, to be sure. Such a pleasure to laugh with it without a sense of irony.

Tomorrow will be busy. Tuesday you leave for Tampa and Madeira Beach once more and to be returned by July, hopefully alive and well.

2228 hours. I wish for nothing more for the world than for it to be alive and well.

151. Notes - for consideration

151. 15 June 2019

After a Smashburger supper. Earlier you decided to put up two blog pages (149 and 150) because you liked them both equally. - Amorella

1944 hours. Posting on Facebook is relatively new for me. I will continue with at least one a week for a while. I need to refocus on the metaphysics. I would like to better define Amorella in relationship to Miss Havisham since I have a basic sense of my soul as a spiritual being. For instance, how does Amorella view Miss Havisham and how does Miss Havisham view Amorella? When human being met other human beings for the first time, at least in our culture, we might shake hands or acknowledge eye contact and perhaps a smile or positive nod. Obviously, in here, each recognizes the other as a spirit. Perhaps I should begin there. What defines a soul as a spirit? And, what defines Amorella as a different spirit? In this blog is there a catalog of spirits from a spirit's perspective?

This is Amorella. Miss Havisham defers the question to me first. Orndorff, is there a species catalog of human beings?

2003 hours. No. Human beings are the species.

It is the same for spirits, they are as a species in the same context. - Amorella

2005 hours. Is there diversity among spirits?

We are two examples. - mh

2013 hours. Are there other examples besides you two?

       Yes. - Amorella

2015 hours. Thank you. I am not prepared for further questions on this subject. The reason I am not prepared is that I need to make more sense of the both of you first; otherwise, I have nothing to build on.

I began this commentary the other day by suggesting that it isn't often that I meet a soul. I 'know' souls, but meeting the personification of a soul is not the same thing as meeting an undressed soul. To do so I have to personify myself. - Amorella

You are doing the same thing, Mr. Orndorff. You allow us to 'meet' you, i.e. communicate with you, by sharing your heartanmind within your soul and then by creating the illusion that your heartanmind is separate from your soul. You stated this when you wrote you (as one whole being) were in three parts of spirit -- Amorella, Miss Havisham and your heartanmind. You changed your dressing so to better communicate with the two of us. -mh

2032 hours. Thank you both for your efforts. I did not consciously recognize my own effort in helping to make this inner-communication to happen.

This communication between human beings and spirits can only truly happen through written language devoid of id, ego and superego, as it were. - Amorella

2037 hours. But, I as a human being have id, ego, superego or any equivalent of the same.

Your initial language gives you away, Mr. Orndorff, whether you recognize it or not. You did not write, "I a human being have id, ego, superego or any equivalent of the same." You used, "I as a human being." Even now, you realize you forgot a comma after 'I'. mh

2045 hours. Now, this is plain weird.

What this shows, orndorff, is that human beings are more than they think they are. The pronoun 'I' is more than being human. This is true, from my spiritual perspective, of all human beings. - Amorella

In this perspective, Mr. Orndorff, the pronoun 'I' comes before the given name. mh

2050 hours. I need to further think this through.

This is the reason I mainly communicate to you through the written word. - Amorella

       2052 hours. Oh, my goodness.

You see, this is your first, your most honest and true reaction, and you are now embarrassed by it. Post. - Amorella

150. Notes - a basic human condition

150. 14 June 2019

Late morning. Looking out your bedroom window from the slant position of the black lounger you see a grouping of daisies looking bright and cheerful next to the green well rain-soaked grass. Behind the daisies is the brown dirt awaiting sod cover some time this month. Your new neighbor, A.S., will be happy. - Amorella

1113 hours. Today is my friend, John Douglas Goss's birthday. I remembered to send him a b note a few minutes ago. We have been friends since the third grade (1951).

Carol and Cathy have been in the outback planting wildflowers from Cathy's garden. The sky appears blue and is windy still. - Amorella

1253 hours. I like your "windy still". Very funny.

Amorella is picking up on Soul humor. - mh

I have made acquaintance with Miss Havisham; it is not a usual feat when two unlikely spirits meet. - Amorella

1259 hours. Wow. I suddenly feel like I'm an Alice in Spiritland.

That's the short and tall of it, orndorff. - Amorella

       1306 hours. Good grief.

See, Mr. Orndorff, you can show some humor here too. - mh

1309 hours. I'm dumbfounded. (Is this a real word?)

         Post. - Amorella

Mid-afternoon. Carol and Cathy quit for the day and the four of you are going out at four-thirty for an early supper at nearby Max and Erma's on Maxtown and North State. - Amorella

1549 hours. I cannot grasp where this three-way conversion is going. I did not consider that the soul would be considered a spirit though I don't know how else humans would classify a soul. As such though, I need to classify Amorella as one type of spirit and Miss Havisham as another. I realize that metaphysics is not science but Angels have been classified so it seems to me lesser spiritual-like beings can be classified too. The thing is, I am, in part, a living biological body that has basically three spirits within. The heartanmind is basically my essential spirit. Miss Havisham is an immortal spirit that protects my essential spirit which is not immortal, and Amorella is, in this case, a kind, guiding spirit who helps me communicate with myself and with others through the usual process of writing or typing, though Amorella has also used my fore and middle fingers, with string and washer, hovering over an alphabet tablet method. (1602)

Suppertime. Carol is finishing up watering the new plants that she and Cathy put in today. Tomorrow it is supposed to rain. You had a good and fun supper with Cathy and Tod. You two paid saying it was for their June birthdays (Tod's is next week). They graciously accepted. - Amorella

You and Carol are facing northwest at Shale Hollow Park this evening. Carol is working on her Coben novel, Deepest Fear, page 242. You have so many questions about my new relationship with Miss Havisham, the first coming from the fact that you didn't know we could 'communicate' with one another without a reference to the live human of we three spirits. I don't know why you didn't think about this. When writing your usual fiction characters would talk to one another from time to time; you even heard their voices once in a while. - Amorella

1920 hours. I didn't mention that but maybe once or twice -- that's pretty serious stuff -- people can be put away for that type of behavior.

But it was type behavior, Mr. Orndorff. - mh

1923 hours. You are trying to get me to smile, Miss Havisham.  You are reminding me of small fun relationships between teacher and student. Male and female. Some students I could have easily adopted in real life, if they needed adopting. I thought of most of them as nieces and nephews or second cousins once removed. identified with them as loose family relationships because I cared about them. That was a safe way for relationships for me. Presently, maybe this is me as the student, and I am developing a closer relationship with my two friendly spirits, one being my soul and the other a kind older wiser spirit, a grandfather like Popo Orndorff. I knew him a lot longer because he lived a lot longer than Popo Schick. It might even stem as far back as Aunt Jemima, as my secret friend when I was four, five and six. I knew her from the cover of a pancake mix box. We would talk to one another, she was my imaginary friend. I knew that, but we had fun anyway. She kept me company when I was playing by myself outside or inside.

It might be because, for no known reason, you have always been lonely from the inside out even though, strangely, you have always had real friends on the outside looking in, observing the real you. Doug and Fritz and Steve for instance; and Laney as a close friend even though you are both married to someone else. All four touch your soul, me; no question about it. - mh

1946 hours. It bothers me that you are using "your soul" because 'your' shows possession and I don't want to possess you. I want us to friends, at least as a personification.

I am not a doll to be imagined on as alive, Mr. Orndorff. It is fine that people think they are owners of their souls, even though they are not. Human beings are built to survive as living in the material-physical universe. Once with the non-living the relationship develops, rather quickly, because human beings, in their physical and spiritual nature are not built to be alone. They are built for friends who need friends. This is how they survive physically and mentally. You know this. Most everyone knows this, deep down. Whether people accept this or not is something else. If they do not accept friendships, then they cannot accept themselves as human beings. Simple as that. - mh

       Post. - Amorella

1958 hours. You can be so abrupt, Amorella.

It is not time for you to be among the Dead, orndorff. No more tonight, my young friend. Post. - Amorella

2000 hours. I am understanding metaphysics and myself better, that is, my human condition better.

149. Notes - Experience with a capital

149. 13 June 2019

Afternoon. You noticed several hits yesterday and today on Encounters in Mind. I find it interesting and relevant to this blog so drop it in below as you already made a copy. - Amorella

1327 hours. I found it interesting because I had forgotten all about it, but this blog is about Miss Havisham and I don't see how that is relevant because it is a different subject.

Below is a heavily edited article recomposed into personalized 'article notes' for relevance to this blog. The more complete article can be read at: 'wikipedia.com - experience' or at encountersinmind@blogspot.com. Notes: 02 June 2026, titled, "The Dewdrop Discoveries - Selected Definitions". - Amorella

Experience

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia [Reduced to personal notes.]

Experience is the knowledge or mastery of an event or subject gained through involvement in or exposure to it. Terms in philosophy, such as "empirical knowledge" or "a posteriori knowledge," are used to refer to knowledge based on experience...

Experience plays an important role in the philosophy of Soren Kierkegaard. The German term Erfahrung, often translated into English as "experience", has a slightly different implication, connoting the coherency of life’s experiences...

Two Types of experience

The word "experience" may refer, somewhat ambiguously, both to mentally unprocessed immediately perceived events as well as to the purported wisdom gained in subsequent reflection on those events or interpretation of them.

A. Subjective

1. Subjective experience can involve a state of individual subjectivity, perception on which one builds one's own state of reality; a reality based on one’s interaction with one's environment.

2. The subjective experience depends on one’s individual ability to process data, to store and internalize it.

B. Spiritual

Wired for the Ultimate Reality: The Neuropsychology of Religious Experience

It has now become possible to consider asking questions regarding how complex behaviors, thoughts, and feelings occur, even when they are associated with religious and spiritual experience . . . . Can we use our subjective sense of the absolute certainty of the objective reality of our everyday world to establish that that world is "really real"?

To simplify the issue somewhat, let us for the momentcontrast
the most extreme unitary state,
what we have calledAbsolute Unitary Being(AUB),
with baseline reality.

AUBrefers to the rare state
in which there is a complete loss of the sense of self,
loss of the sense of space and time,
and everything becomes an infinite, undifferentiated oneness.

Baseline reality demonstrates the following four fundamental properties:

•                1. A strong sense of the reality of what is experienced.

•                2. Endurance of that reality through very long periods of time, usually only interrupted by sleeping.

•                3. The sense that when elements in baseline reality disappear from all forms of sensory detection, they have ceased to be.

•                4. High cross—subjective validation both for details of perception and core meaning. In other words, other people corroborate our perceptions of the world, i.e., reality is a collective hunch.

Clearly, baseline reality has some significant claim to being ultimate reality.

However, AUB is so compelling that it is very difficult indeed to write off the assertion of its reality. . .

Neuropsychology can give no answer as to which state is more real, baseline reality or hyperlucid unitary consciousness often experienced as God.

We may be reduced to saying that each is real in its own way and for its own adaptive ends.

Thus, the essential characteristic of different states of reality are eventually reducible only to the strength of the sense of reality, the phantasia catalyptica of the Stoics, or the Anwesenheit (compelling presence) of certain modern German philosophers.

A vivid sense of reality may be the only thing that we can use to help determine what is really real until someone determines a method for going beyond the brain's perception of reality.

In The Mystical Mind, we explore the concept of neurotheology as a way to help better answer the epistemological question raised above — is AUB or baseline reality more real?

It might ultimately be best to consider both versions of reality to be complementary, rather than opposed, to each other.

However, this conclusion also has important implications for religion, theology, and the scientific study of religious experiences.

As a field, the neuroscientific analysis of religious and spiritual experiences is only in its infancy. Much more research must be pursued before we can begin to better understand these complex experiences.

Kim and Paul are home. You are home.  Carol is in bed reading her book and you are in the black lounger. The article above spoke of religious experiences but you prefer spiritual experiences. You would like another word for spiritual because it has cultural connotations. - Amorella

We souls have a word and while not fully translatable into English it is a word that states the opposite of 'materially-physics'; the base setting of the Living: the fully-unlacking, as in we souls are 'fully-unlackings'. It is a joke word. A wrong word, but more understandable to humans speaking English would be: we souls are 'fully-nothing'. Another would be: we souls are 'fullyfulls'. mh

2246 hours. Fullyfulls is the most fun to say, i.e. Souls are fullyfulls.

Let's use fullyfulls then. Variations of which are references to the opposite of the setting of the physical universe. Instead of a spiritualist you are a fullyfuller, at least in my book. - mh

2254 hours. Thank you very much, Miss Havisham. I am honored to be considered such by the soul I spiritually inhabit.

You see, you are learning a new perception of what a soul is, whether empty or holding a human's spiritual heartanmind. - mh

2300 hours. I am enjoying; delighting in the experience.

'Experience' is a good way to conclude today's blog. Post. - Amorella
